UCOP has made changes to the resources available on UCnet in support of the Rehired Retiree changes to UC's benefits eligibility policy.  In addition, the UCPath Training team has launched a new training for UCPath staff, as well as local hiring managers and transactors, offering information about the policy change and how best to enter recall/rehire appointments in the UCPath system to ensure accurate offers of benefits.

UCnet Updates
The formatting of information has been updated and changed on UCnet relating to the benefits eligibility policy changes affecting rehired retirees.  The returning to work at UC after retirement<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/retirees/understanding-your-retiree-benefits/returning-to-work-after-retirement/> page provides a high-level overview of the upcoming policy change and a list of support resources, including links to the FAQs, the site to book a 1:1 appointment with a RASC insurance liaison, the live monthly webinar, the recording of the webinar, and more.  The rehired retiree benefits eligibility<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/retirees/understanding-your-retiree-benefits/returning-to-work-after-retirement/rehired-retiree-benefits-eligibility/> page lists key takeaways about the policy change, describes how individuals in different scenarios are (or are not) affected by the policy change, and offers FAQs grouped by topic area. The FAQs are no longer in PDF format.

Training for Local Benefits Professionals, Hiring Managers and UCPath Transactors
The training module developed by the UCPath Training team will be loaded into each location's Learning Management System (LMS) - this may take a few days.  The title of the course is "Benefits Eligibility for Rehired Retirees."  In addition, a Benefits Eligibility for Rehired Retirees Decision Tree<https://spwebserv.ucop.edu/LocationUsers/LOCplayer/index.html?Guid=f5d4e6b9-e75c-42c9-a602-bbc7c88dffea> is available in the UCPath Help Library as a companion piece to the training. UCPath Employee Services and other teams will be completing the training this coming week.  All benefits professionals are encouraged to complete the training through their local LMS.

On May 16, 2025, UCOP Health & Welfare Benefits will launch a recurring live webinar for prospective and current retirees regarding the upcoming changes to UC's benefits eligibility policy for rehired retirees.
