This message serves as a reminder about the upcoming July 14, 2025, UCPath release, which includes a redesigned portal experience, PeopleSoft system upgrades and benefits self-service enhancements. Several additional projects are also included in this release but will follow separate implementation timelines.
Key Impacts:
* System downtime: UCPath will be unavailable from Friday, July 11 at 12:00 PM through Monday, July 14 at 6:00 AM
* New UCPath: Users will see a modernized interface with improved navigation and mobile access
* Improved benefits enrollment: A guided life event process and downloadable benefits summaries will be introduced
* Bookmarks: Due to back-end URL changes, users must update any browser bookmarks previously saved
1. UCPath Gets a New Look
UCPath will have a refreshed, modern look designed to provide a cleaner and more intuitive experience for all users.
Key Highlights:
* Top Navigation: The previous left-hand menu has been replaced with a streamlined top navigation bar that aligns with UC's digital brand
* New Sub Pages: Employees will see pages for Personal Information, Income & Taxes, Benefits & Retirement, Accruals & Leaves
* Manager Hub: The new Manager Hub provides a centralized view for managers to access team information quickly
* Transactor Hub: Transactors will access a new Transactor Hub, consolidating their tools in one place
* Mobile-Friendly: The new layout offers improved functionality across desktop and mobile devices
* Alerts & Notices: The new alerts section supports multiple messages with clearer formatting
1. PeopleSoft System Upgrade
The July release includes technical upgrades that improve performance, compliance and accessibility:
* PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) upgraded from Image 47 to Image 49
* PeopleTools upgraded from 8.60.13 to 8.61.11
* MuleSoft upgraded to support JDK 17
Key Highlights:
* Search Improvements: UCPath now uses OpenSearch with clearer page titles, making it easier to find what you need
* Denied Transactions: Denied Manage Human Resources transactions are now viewable in the Organizational Relationship section; no separate Cognos report needed
* View History Button: Users can toggle between current and historical job data directly from search results
1. New Benefits Enhancements
As part of the Improve Self-Service project, employees will experience a more intuitive and accessible benefits enrollment process:
Key Highlights:
* Life Event Enrollment Guides: New step-by-step Activity Guides walk employees through benefit enrollments
* Benefits Confirmation Statement: Employees can view and download their benefits summary after enrollment is complete
Implementation Reminders for July 14 Go-Live
* A final go/no-go decision is scheduled for July 2, 2025
* UCPath system downtime begins Friday, July 11 at 12:00 PM and ends Monday, July 14 at 6:00 AM

1. Other July 2025 Projects (Separate Timelines)
These projects are part of the July release but go live on different dates and do not require UCPath downtime:
Oracle financial support - UC Santa Barbara
* Go-live date: July 5, 2025
* UCPath will implement the "standard package" for payroll and general ledger integration to support UCSB's transition to Oracle Cloud Financials (OCF)
GL updates - UCLA
* Go-live date: July 5, 2025
* UCPath will streamline UCLA's local GAEL (General Automobile & Employment Practice Liability) assessment process by simplifying rate structures, reducing GAEL codes and improving financial efficiency
* The update also includes GL mapping to support the UCLA Medical Center's OSHPD reporting requirements
Expanded Sick Leave policy (Phase 2)
* Go-live date: Post-July 14, 2025
* UCPath will implement a new sick leave bank and expand protected sick leave eligibility for select employee groups
* Phase 2 focuses on the academic bank's eligible population and supports compliance with the updated UC systemwide policy
