UCOP announced an important change regarding the social media monitoring featured in UC's identity protection plan provided by Experian.

Due to recent changes in Instagram's API access, Experian can no longer monitor subscribers' personal Instagram profiles and feeds.

What is Changing? - Instagram has updated its policies to enhance consumer data privacy. These changes restrict third-party apps, including Experian and other identity protection vendors, from accessing and monitoring personal accounts. Consequently, Experian's Social Media Monitoring product will no longer support Instagram monitoring. Monitoring on other platforms, like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter), will remain unchanged.

When is This Change Happening? - The change will take effect on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Notifying Subscribers - All subscribers enrolled in Social Media Monitoring will be notified about this change by the end of November 2024, regardless of their active status on monitored accounts.
