UCPath Notice: Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation and Pronouns Update Coming This July
To: General UCPath Communications distribution

In mid-July, UCPath will introduce enhanced features that support the university's diversity initiatives and align with the Gender Recognition and Lived Name<https://policy.ucop.edu/doc/2700693/GRLN> (GRLN) policy.

Overview of Upcoming Changes

  *   New selections: UCPath will introduce additional values for gender identity, sexual orientation and pronouns.
  *   Limited visibility: Pronouns will now appear alongside employee names in UCPath. This information will only be visible to managers, HR administrators and UCPath Employee Services on pages that display an employee's lived name.

Self-identifying in UCPath

  *   Upon logging in, employees will be prompted to review and update their self-identification choices in UCPath.
  *   Employees may update their selections or decline self-identification.

Non-Employees and Dependents
The updates apply exclusively to UC employees. Changes for external applicants will be handled via the Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM).

Integration and Support
This update applies to UCPath. Local systems may need additional time to display the new gender, sexual orientation and pronoun options.
UCPath will provide ongoing updates and training materials to support the transition to these new features as the launch date approaches.
