DBRs, this is an exclusive communication for your information.

Effective January 8, 2024, the Central HR Benefits Office will take over the responsibility of the Newly Hired Employee Benefits Orientation (NEBO) and offer a monthly, in-person session to assist new Faculty and Staff members with new hire health and welfare benefits plan information, enrollment, and respond to questions.  These sessions are for Faculty or Staff members eligible for full benefits and non-postdoc.

The UCPath Center facilitated monthly, virtual benefits orientation will remain an option for all to attend.  Mid-level benefits orientation will continue to be managed by the UCPath Center.

Centralizing the new hire benefits onboarding process will ensure Faculty and Staff Members receive the same benefits information and given access to additional employee benefits not shared by the UCPath Center.

Department Benefits Representatives are no longer required to provide new hire benefits onboarding assistance. However, facilitating benefits issues and concerns will remain with the DBRs to navigate between the SSCs and the UCPath Center.

Attendees also have the option to join the session via Zoom<https://ucr.zoom.us/j/9252533750?pwd=MGpRR1NhbEJaVjJqR1pLVjU5OTJIZz09&omn=96312032667> on the day of the event.  No registration is required for Zoom attendance and the session will not be recorded.

Kimberly Grossmann is the newly assigned, dedicated Central HR staff member to assist all new Faculty and Staff members with benefits information and enrollment.  We created a dedicated email listserv at newhirebenefits at ucr.edu<mailto:newhirebenefits at ucr.edu> to reach Ms. Grossmann who will facilitate the training session.

Kim will also coordinate with Department Human Resources Units, Shared Service Centers, and the UCPath Center to ensure Faculty and Staff register on the LMS to attend the NEBO sessions, access their UCPath portal, and assist with enrollment challenges.

New Employee Benefits Orientation sessions for Faculty and Staff will begin on January 24, 2024 and will occur each month thereafter as noted below.             Dates:   Fourth Thursday of the month, (3rd Thursday in November and December due to holiday schedule)
            Times: 8:30am to 12:00pm, light breakfast and lunch will be served
