RASC - Call Center Servicing Update

Effective Friday, October 21, 2022, the Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC) disabled the callback feature on the RASC customer service phone line (1-800-888-8267), which was previously offered until 2:00 p.m. PT each day.

Due to unprecedented call volume, RASC has been unable to effectively return calls. Going forward, callers will physically hold on the line and calls will be serviced in the order received. As a result, very long wait times should be expected.

RASC is in the process of hiring additional staff to help improve service levels and anticipates reinstating the callback function when able to ensure same-day callbacks.

RASC has also updated the UCnet RASC contact page<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/contacts/rasc.html> to reflect this change and added messaging on the phone line that all callers will hear to properly set expectations.
