Update: Discovery Benefits/WEX Alert Email Messages
This is an update to the May 19, 2021 communication<https://hr.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm656/files/2021-05/5.19.21-discovery-benefits-wex-alert-email-messages.pdf> regarding emails sent by WEX/Discovery Benefits to Flexible Spending Account participants.

FSA participants who received the email titled "Your Discovery Benefits enrollment confirmation" were advised to log into their accounts to verify their information - please note that 2020 Plan Balances for these participants may be inaccurate. The inaccuracy was because the build-out of the 2020 plan in WEX's system is not yet complete. Participants should ignore their 2020 plan year balance information until WEX has completed importing all plan data from WageWorks, which will occur after June 15, 2021. In addition, participants will receive an error if they attempt to submit a claim for 2020; claims must be held until after the "blackout period" mentioned in earlier HRB memos has been lifted.

WEX is going to add a "pop-up" on participants' online accounts that states:
2020 FSA balances are not final. Disregard 2020 data until June 14, 2021.
Claims processing resumes June 15, 2021.
The WEX Participant Services Leadership team is prepared for increased call volumes from concerned participants. If you receive employee inquiries, please share that WEX is actively working on their 2020 FSA balance and they can ignore the emails with the subject lines "Recent Update to your Discovery Benefits Account" and "Your Discovery Benefits enrollment confirmation."
