SDRC Bootcamp Workshop Series Winter 2024

Are you transitioning to UCR or need a refresher of supports and resources? SDRC team members  will offer a series of workshops during Week 1 of the Winter 2024 quarter. All registered students with SDRC are welcome.

Friday, January 5th
Orientation to Services (Option 1)
Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Facilitator: The Testing Center Team
Description: Whether you are new or returning, an Orientation to Services refresher is always helpful. Come join us as we review how to send out letters of accommodations to faculty, schedule tests, and/or ask questions as it relates to accessing approved accommodations.

Monday, January 8th

Intro to Tech Tools for Note Taking
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Facilitators: Will Pines
Description: Note taking in the college setting can be intimidating; learn about various methods that can assist with note taking and become acquainted with tech tools that can be helpful for note taking.

Wednesday, January 10th
Mini Time Management Workshop
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Facilitation: Luisana Suchilt
Description:  Do you need support with time management  or are considering joining the Workshop Series during the quarter? Join us in this mini session to get an overview of the facets of time management and learn a few tips to help you improve your organizational system at the beginning of the quarter.

Thursday, January 11th
Session 4: Self-Advocacy in the College Setting
Time: 3:00 PM- 4:00 PM
Facilitators: Jenny Biggers
Description: Improve your self-advocacy skills as it relates to requesting clarification about course material, communicating disability related information, or addressing concerns.  Additionally, this workshop will help you understand your rights and responsibilities as it relates to accessing SDRC resources during the Winter 2024 quarter.
