Notice: You will be prompted to complete the required cybersecurity
training when you log into UCR resources.

Dear Colleague,

I am writing because UC Learning Center records indicate that you are not
current on your required annual UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals
training. As a result of this status, you will begin receiving a prompt to
complete the training every time you attempt to log into a secure UCR
resource. This change to your login experience is part of UCR’s plan

As mandated by the UC Office of the President
<https://its.ucr.edu/uc-presidents-letter> and reiterated by Provost Watkins
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-bMZddr-Bc>, all UCR employees (faculty,
staff, and student employees) must complete and remain current on the
required annual UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals training

to ensure continued access to UCR applications and resources.
What to Expect When Logging In

After logging into a secure UCR resource and verifying your login, you will
see this page:

By clicking the “Take Action Now” button, you will be directed to
step-by-step guidance on how to navigate to the UC Learning Center to
complete the UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals training (you may
view the guidance now by visiting the IT Knowledge Base
<https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0012297>
).
Bypassing the Training Requirement Temporarily

If you prefer to take the training at a later time, you may click “Skip
Temporarily” below the button. It is important to note, however, that you
must click “Skip Temporarily” twice to close the page and be directed to
the UCR resource you are attempting to log into.

While it is possible to temporarily skip the request to complete training,
you are still required to take it. Continued non-compliance will result in
the inability to access secure UCR resources until the training is complete.
Experience Upon Training Completion

Once you complete the required UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals
training you will no longer be met with the page asking you to take action
on training. You will be able to directly access the UCR resource you are
logging into.
Support

If you believe that the requirement to complete the UC Cyber Security
Awareness Fundamentals training does not apply to you because you are not a
current employee (faculty, staff, or student employee), please contact your
former department administrator or HR coordinator.
