Dear Campus Phone User,

The new date for your telephony service upgrade to Zoom Phone Services is
on July 13, 2023. Please carefully review the following details to ensure a
seamless transition experience.

 What You Need to Know

   -

You are invited to attend a Zoom Phone Services training session on
Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (PDT). Please register
   now
   <https://ucr.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_6cItzTnFTGKuQLvQ36Derw#/registration>
to add the meeting invitation to your calendar.
   -

Upon activation, you will start using UCR’s unified, modern telephony
   platform, Zoom Phone Services <https://its.ucr.edu/zoom-phone-services>,
which will replace your existing telephony hardware. You may experience
intermittent call issues for a few minutes during the transition period.
This is normal as the numbers are being ported from one carrier to
   another.
   -

Your current desk phone will be inoperable upon activation of Zoom Phone
   Services.
   -

As part of our commitment to sustainability, the ITS Telecom/Network
team will contact each Department and arrange to pick up existing
handsets. Please
note that desk phones will not be replaced. Users are strongly
encouraged to evaluate the Zoom Phone desktop and mobile applications for
their phone needs. If a physical phone is required, a Telecom work order

must be submitted. Please read the Zoom Phone FAQs
   <https://its.ucr.edu/zoom-phone-services#Zoom-FAQ> for more details.
   -

Headsets will be offered by each department on a case-by-case basis. If
needed, please speak to your unit administrator about purchasing a
compatible
headset <https://its.ucr.edu/headset-standards> (Note: Any headset that
is currently being used for Zoom video conferencing will work for Zoom
   Phone—no changes are needed).
   -

Once activation is complete, all calling activities (inbound and
outbound) will be routed through a new phone icon in the Zoom Meeting
application, visible to users beginning July 12th.
   -

Your voicemail greeting, voicemail messages, and speed dials will not be
transferred from your current phone to your new Zoom Phone account.
During training, instructions on how to set up your new voicemail will be
   provided.
