Dear Health, Well-being & Safety (HWS) Zoom User,
You received the below notice on Thursday, August 24, to notify you that
your Zoom account was set to be consolidated with UCR’s Enterprise Zoom
Account on Friday, August 25, at 7 PM.
This notice incorrectly specified School of Medicine users. It should have
instead made it clear that this change would apply to all HIPAA-container
accounts, which includes users in Student Health Services (SHS) and
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). We sincerely apologize for
any confusion. Please find updated guidance below:
What changed during the consolidation process?
Most users did not experience any change as a result of the consolidation
process. However, a select number of users reported issues with meeting
length. Investigation of the issue determined that some user accounts were
inadvertently reverted to Basic accounts with limited access to Zoom
features.
Please note that the affected accounts have since been remediated and the
issue is resolved. If you are still experiencing problems with Zoom, please
log out and then log back into your Zoom account to allow the change to
apply.
Why did this change take place?
UCR is in the process of consolidating its platforms to simplify and
streamline the campus user experience, as well as provide cost savings.
Is UCR’s Enterprise Zoom account compliant with SHS and CAPS needs?
Yes, the Enterprise Zoom account is verified as HIPAA-compliant and is
equipped with features that meet SHS’ and CAPS’ needs. Users may continue
using Zoom in the same capacity as before.
What action do I need to take?
No action is required on your part. If you are experiencing any issues,
please log out and then back into your Zoom account. If that does not
resolve your issue or if you are using a system that was previously
configured for Zoom-HIPAA and it is not working as expected, please report
the problem to BearHelp at (951) 827-4848.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this account change caused.
We thank you for your patience as we endeavor to streamline the campus user
experience.
Sincerely,
Information Technology Solutions
