[Campus Notice] Changes to Legacy UCR SMTP Services

[UCR Information Technology Solutions]

Dear Campus Email User,

To better secure and protect our campus community, UCR ITS will remove
legacy SMTP services for off-campus users on *September 1, 2023 at 7:00 PM
(PDT)*.

If you are using smtp.ucr.edu in your email client (e.g., Outlook,
Thunderbird, Mac Mail) to send mail from home or from a remote location,
you will no longer be able to send mail with your email client and will
need to change your settings.

The UCR ITS Knowledge Base (kb.ucr.edu
<https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal/?id=knowledge>) has
documentation for O365 and R'Mail (Google Mail) configurations. If
additional assistance is required, please submit a support ticket (
its.ucr.edu/support) or call the BearHelp support desk during normal
business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM) at 951-827-4848.
