[Tech-bulletin] ACTION REQUIRED: Your Windows 7 Device is Not Compatible with the Upcoming Campus VPN Upgrade

Dear Campus User, 

 

You are receiving this email because you have been identified as a Windows 7
user. Please be informed that ITS will upgrade

2c602df12053baf2252>  the campus Virtual Private Network (VPN) at 10PM on
Sunday, December 6, 2020. As a result of this upgrade, when attempting to
connect to the GlobalProtect VPN you will receive a pop-up notification
asking you to upgrade to the latest version of the VPN. Please do not
update, as this version of the VPN is not compatible with Windows 7
operating systems.

Please note that the Windows 7 operating system is no longer supported by
Microsoft, and as a result your computer's operating system will become
increasingly incompatible with various applications you may need to conduct
your work. Moreover, your operating system is no longer protected by
important security systems that protect UCR's data and your personal
information. ITS encourages you to update your operating system as soon as
