Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of **their ancestors
and descendants, past, present, and future. Today this **meeting place is
home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, **including UCR
faculty, students, and staff, and we are grateful to have the **opportunity
to live and work on these homelands.*

Dear Sherryl,
We wanted to invite you to the call below, in case it is of interest?
We are seeking targeted submissions for an upcoming publication on the
impact of * Star Wars* for the 50th anniversary of *A New Hope*. The
primary focus will be on the Original Trilogy (OT), although we will
consider chapters on the prequels, sequels, and extended universe material,
so long as explicit connections are made with the OT. We welcome
submissions addressing the production history of the OT, including
locations, special effects and technological advances, costumes, music,
sound design, set design, editing, marketing, and merchandising. Also of
interest is the global cultural impact of the OT, including the rise of SW
fandom, remakes and re-interpretations, parodies and imitations, and
re-evaluations of the OT through various lenses.
The proposal for this collection, edited by Sorcha Ní Fhlainn and Christine
Lee Gengaro, will be submitted to Manchester University Press (MUP) for
their series, *Multiplexities: Popular Screen Cultures*.
Abstracts of no more than 250 words should be sent to
multiplexitiesmup at gmail.com by 1 December 2025. Please include an author
bio of 100 words with your submission.
If you have any questions or queries, please do get in touch. We are very
happy to discuss the shape of your proposal before submission, if desired.
Very best,
Sorcha & Christine
