Subject: Lecturer Needed to Teach course at Cal Poly
To: David Allen Kirby <dakirby at calpoly.edu>

Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for a Lecturer who could teach a course at Cal Poly University
during our Winter quarter. The course is ISLA 305: Topics in Public
Engagements with STEM. I am looking for someone who could teach one of
these two topics: 1) Storytelling for the Sciences, or 2) Citizen Science.

The course runs from Jan. 4 until March 12 with a final exam week from
March 15 – 19. All of our department's courses will be online in Winter,
so the Lecturer does not need to teach in person nor even be in California.
The course is currently set as synchronous (MW 12:20-2PM PST) but we could
switch the days/times if that is required. We could also possibly switch
the course to asynchronous if needed.

The person would be hired at the Lecturer B level, which would pay $5382
for the course to be paid out over 4 checks. Lecturers at Cal Poly are
only required to have a Masters degree, so it would be possible for current
PhD students to teach the course. Please let me know if you know of anyone
who might be interested in teaching this course. You can also forward this
email to anyone who you think might be interested. Thanks.

- David
