Dear SFCS friends,

On February 27 (1-3pm via zoom), the Academic Senate will vote on SEHE’s
proposals for a BA in Environmental Studies

and
a BA Global and Community Health

(as
well as minors in each). These proposals offer CHASS students a meaningful
program of study in the arts, humanities, and social sciences that is
relevant to their careers, Inland Empire communities, and the future health
of our planet. With the Environmental Studies degree program, UCR will join
five other UCs that already offer interdisciplinary environmental studies
undergraduate majors. The Global and Community Health major will offer
students critical arts, humanities and social science perspectives on
health inequities, health justice and the social determinants of health.
SEHE graduates from these two degree programs will be ready to enter a
growing workforce in environment and health, and graduate training in
public policy, business, city planning, public health and related fields.

SEHE would like to invite SFCS faculty to join us at our social hour for
UCR faculty at The Stable on February 22 from 4:30-6pm, to talk about our
proposals and enjoy the company.

Come and get your new SEHE sticker!
