Hello,

Our new fully online course, ANTH 141W: Sociocultural Perspectives on
Graduate Education Futures funded as part of a UCOP grant, will be taught
for the first time in the Fall 2025 quarter. We would like your assistance
in spreading the word about this new course so we can get a sense of how
many students would be interested.

Below is a course description and attached is both a flyer and social media
advertisement.
Thank you for all your assistance!

-----------------

*Course Description: *This course reviews the prominent sociocultural
anthropological principles and theories underpinning the disparities
between the undergraduate and graduate education pipeline. Topics include
imposter syndrome, growth mindset, social and cultural capital,
intersectionality, and time poverty. and graduate diversity within the U.S
education system. Concurrent enrollment with WRIT40Y.

*Secondarily, * this course is designed to aid UC students in considering
graduate education by demystifying the graduate school application process
by providing a dedicated and rigorous space to explore academic
motivations, opportunities, and resources. Through a blend of theoretical
literature on learning and education, practical and diverse instruction,
and real-world application assignments, students will build confidence in
themselves and their future academic/professional objectives, *while
producing a final graduate admissions portfolio.*

*Furthermore,* this course will be taught in conjunction with the Writing
Across the Curriculum Department, meaning this course will also satisfy the
third quarter writing requirement.

If you or any students have any questions, you can email me at
jbrad044 at ucr.edu.
