[RITL] AWS account info for researchers (academic units also)

I was sending this to James and thought everyone might find value in this AWS account summation.


There are a few different AWS UC-wide agreements in place that we can take advantage of for UCR folks.



The 1st one:

A 15% AWS Data Egrees waver (this also allows a researcher to be billed via invoice as opposed to a credit card)

To be part of this do the following:

Have then or their fund managers Send an email to aws-uc-procurement at amazon.com<mailto:aws-uc-procurement at amazon.com> asking to be added to the UC Enterprise agreement and Data Egress Waiver and for the account to be converted to invoicing.  Provide the following information as well.

  *   Account Number:
  *   Company Name:
  *   Contact Name:
  *   Contact Phone for Invoice:
  *   Contact Email for Invoice (if multiple, separate with semi colon):
  *   Address to send Invoice to:
  *   City:
  *   State:
  *   Zip:
  *   Country:
  *   PO Number (if applicable):



The 2nd one:

The AWS UC-wide Enterprise Discount Program (15% off all services 46% off most storage) available however its implementation at UCR does not make sense unless the account spends over something like $200/mth. Because of the following recharge overhead with the master payer account.

  *   UCR One-time account setup fee of $135
  *   UCR Annual fee of $407/year for administrative support


Although if the service gets large in any way, this will be an easy threshold to cross, and the program makes sense. In which case we'll then submit a Research Computing ServiceLink ticket for them to be added.
