[Research] Cal/OSHA COVID citations

Good afternoon, all.

For what it's worth, Cal/OSHA has begun to issue citations (all serious) to employers for COVID-related violations.  I assume that all UC locations are on top of these issues, but just so you all are aware of Cal/OSHA's current focus, Cal/OSHA cited employers for the following:


  *   Failure to evaluate the hazards of individuals entering the workplace and failure to implement screening procedures
  *   Failure to provide sufficient shade (for outdoor work) to enable workers to physically distance from each other
  *   Failure to ensure at least six-foot distance between employees even though face coverings were provided
  *   Failure to install physical barriers in a checkout line
  *   Failure (in a healthcare setting) to ensure that employees wore respirators around COVID-19 patients
  *   Failure to use appropriate and feasible engineering controls to prevent exposure
  *   Ineffective training on COVID-19 prevention
