Dear POT Colleagues,

I am writing with this invitation to submit a proposal for a seminar with
the Teaching Professor Network this academic year. Though the deadline in
the email says Oct 2., you have until early November to submit due to an
extended deadline specifically for POTs at UCR. If you have a project you'd
like to present, please consider submitting! We are especially interested
in non-STEM presentations.

Cheers,
Annie

2026-2027

Hi colleagues,

I hope the start of your fall term is going well. The UC Teaching Professor
Network virtual seminar series is returning for a second year, and I'm
writing to invite you to propose a talk.

The series highlights the teaching and education-related scholarship being
done by Teaching Professors across the UC system. Last year we hosted eight
seminars with speakers from all nine undergraduate serving UC campuses, on
everything from blended art-and-science course design to AI grading
platforms, metacognitive homework in intro physics, and generative AI in a
gateway math course.

The format is a single 50-minute virtual seminar over Zoom, scheduled in
whichever quarter works best for you.

A few things additional notes if you're considering submitting a proposal
for a talk this year:

   - *You don't need a finished study.* Works in progress, pilot data, and
"here's something I tried and what I learned from it" are all welcome.
These seminars are intended to promote conversation and collaboration
across the UCs, so if you have an idea for a productive discussion you'd
like to lead with colleagues across the system, propose it!
   - *If you submitted last year and weren't scheduled, please submit
again.* We had a lot of interest in giving talks last year and
unfortunately the calendar filled up. If you weren't scheduled to give a
talk last year, send in your idea again and hopefully we will be able to
get you on the schedule this time!

To propose a seminar, fill out this short form: 2026-2027 TPN Seminar
Series Proposal Form

It asks for a working title, a brief description of the topic you'd like to
discuss, and which term(s) you'd prefer. Please submit by *Friday, October
2* so we have plenty of time to get our Fall lineup built and advertised to
the Network.

As always, please pass this along to any colleagues who might be
interested, and don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Jeff Maloy
