Effective August 1, 2010, the University of California is required to change the manner in which the race and ethnicity data of employees are collected and reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The changes result from the implementation of new standards for Federal agencies on the collection of racial and ethnic data adopted by the U.S. Department of Education in 2007. 

 

As a result of the new requirements, UC personnel should provide to employees hired on or after August 1, 2010 the new Demographic Data Transmittal Form (Form U5605) <http://www.humanresources.ucr.edu/Forms/U5605-6%2010%20(12)%20Final.pdf>  to voluntarily self-identify their race, ethnicity, disabled status, and veteran status. In addition to the new form, the following two instructional documents have been developed to assist the campus in processing the new form:

Systems modifications have been completed and were distributed to all campuses via payroll release in early July 2010.  The systems that have been updated are:

 

o    Payroll Personnel Systems (PPS)

o    Employee Data Base (EDB)

o    Corporate Personnel System (CPS)

o    Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW)

o    Web New Hire
