Here are the meeting notes from the PPS Users Group Meeting, August 12,
2009 in HMNSS 1500, 10:00 to 11:30.

 

1             E-Verify Update - Heidie Rhodes

Heidie Rhodes provided some E-Verify Updates

 

*         Those assigned to directly work on a qualifying federal
contract/subcontract - new hires & existing employees

*         Requires SSN & online E-Verification in addition to the normal
I-9 process

*         Campus must be registered by September 8, 2009 or within 30
days of the first qualifying contract award

*         PPS will be modified to include E-Verify fields 

*         HR will maintain records

*         More information on the procedure will be coming

2.         Leave of Absence Updates - Heidie Rhodes 

*         Next class September 16 and is full 

*         The updated website now has all forms, sample letters and
instructions, as well as the same PPT that will be presented in the
September 16 class

*         UCOP should have their up-to-date changes and revised forms
and sample letters to the campuses within 1 week or so - our website and
PPT presentation will once again be updated and a notice will go out to
the MSO's & PPS Users

*         The next class is February 17th, if time and scheduling allows
an additional class in 2009 will be added

3.         Furlough/Salary Reduction - Gabe Nwandu 

            Gabe presented some information on the Salary
Reduction/Furlough program that will take effect September 1, 2009.
Please use the attached document as a draft.   Information contained in
the document is subject to change anytime until the program is released
and installed in PPS.

4.         AYSO Direct Deposit Application - Gabe Nwandu

Gabe gave a demonstration on how to use the new AYSO Direct Deposit
Application.  He encouraged departments to advise their employees to use
the AYSO Direct Deposit application to make changes to their banking
information.   New hires should also be encouraged to put their
information into AYSO so that errors can be avoided.   The central
payroll department will be sent an error report if something is not set
up correctly which at that time the employee will be contacted for
further information. 

 

The PPS Users Group meeting was well attended with over 100 attendees.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 9th,  at HMNSS 1500
from 10:00 to 11:30.
