Good morning, everyone.

I'm leading this year's Annual Undergraduate Assessment. I'm looking to
hire three graduate students to assist me with
evaluating undergraduate papers.

Basic information:

1. The pay is $18/hr for an expected 32 hours, which sums to $576.
2. The work must be completed within two weeks: between June 24 and July 8.
3. The work will involve assessing specific learning outcomes for
84 undergraduate papers selected from 8 different undergraduate courses.
Because these papers originate from distinct courses, the learning outcomes
selected for assessment may differ from one cluster of papers to the next.
However, each learning outcome associated with a cluster of papers will be
made clear and a rubric will be provided for assessment. Papers will be
accessible through a shared Google Drive and the numerical assessments will
be recorded in a Google Spreadsheet. Every phase of this process can be
completed remotely.
4. The purpose of this assessment is to help the department carefully
track undergraduate performance and to assist UCR in its accreditation
process. It also looks good on a resume for graduate students applying to
positions with heavy service and teaching responsibilities.

Many of you have already done this type of work. The procedure and
expectations for this round will be as close as possible to what you have
experienced before. As for others, if you are interested but still have
questions, then I'm happy to talk.

Anyone who wishes to be considered for the position should send me an email
expressing interest with a short résumé attached.

Best regards,
Josh
