[Poscgrad] Speaker Series AY 26-27

Dear all,

I’m very pleased to share the Speaker Series lineup for AY 2026–2027 (see
attached flyer). We have an excellent and diverse set of speakers, covering
a wide range of topics and approaches across the discipline. We were also
fortunate that all nine scholars selected by the committee (based on
faculty recommendations) accepted our invitations.

I also wanted to let you know that I will be on sabbatical next academic
year, and Ben Newman has kindly agreed to coordinate the speaker series
during my leave. Many thanks to Ben for taking this on.

This seems like a good moment to also highlight a new resource: we have
created a department events calendar
<https://politicalscience.ucr.edu/events> on the website, which will serve
as a central hub for all department activities (speaker series,
conferences, job talks, book talks, and co-sponsored events). You can add
the calendar to your personal Google Calendar, which makes it easy to stay
up to date.

We encourage everyone to use the calendar regularly. If you would like to
add a department event, please contact our GSR (donald.zarate at ucr.edu).
