[Poscgrad] Fall Reminders!

Hi Graduate Students.

I hope your Summer has been long and restful. Here on campus we are gearing
up for Fall and wanted to send you some important reminders:
*Fall Enrollment – 12 Unit Requirement*

Graduate students are required to be enrolled in *a minimum of 12 units. *Your
funding is based on your 12 unit enrollment, so do not delay!


   - Take care of any holds now
   - If you are unable to enroll or need to increase units, complete the
   POSC Enrollment form HERE

   - Notify me if you are taking a quarter off from enrollment: Ready to
   Enroll Status, Filing Fee, or Leave
   - Attached is the *2025-26 Academic Year Course Offering List *to help with
   your academic planning (courses are subject to change)

*Working in Another Department This Quarter?*

If you are working for another department this quarter, you are required to
send me a copy of your signed contract.


   - Your home department must post this employment on your student record
   (if you are at 50% or more) for your tuition and fee remission to be
   processed
   - Thank you to those who have already submitted that to me!

*POSC Travel Awards – Plan Ahead!*

If you are planning to attend a conference this Fall, please start your
POSC Travel Grant request NOW. See the updated guidelines attached.


   - Important: You MUST apply to the Graduate Student Association (GSA)
   travel grant in order to be eligible.

To begin your POSC Travel request, please email me with the following:


   - Date and location of conference
   - Indicate whether you are presenting (include acceptance notice or
   panel info)
   - Estimated costs for registration, travel, lodging and meals

*Graduate Division – New Petition Deadlines*

Starting this Fall, the Graduate Division is *strictly enforcing
R'Grad petition deadlines*. These deadlines are firm—*no exceptions* will
be granted.


   - Attached: Official communication from the Graduate Division

Please review the updated schedule carefully and plan ahead—we’ve already
seen petitions denied due to missed deadlines. Don’t let that happen to you!
