[Poscgrad] Speaker Series - Dr. Beard (17 NOV)

Greetings, everyone!

The department will be hosting Prof. Lisa Beard (they/them) from Western
Washington University *next Monday*! Their research focuses on race,
gender, and sexuality in politics and political thought. Their website can

She will be presenting their project, "Identificatory Appeals Against the
Grain of Power." For more information, see the attached *flyer*. At this
time, there is no manuscript for this talk.

The department will also be hosting a lunch at *The Stable *with Prof.
Beard at 1:30 for a small group of graduate students. If you are interested
in attending lunch (*free food*), please respond directly to this email no
later than *2:00 PM on **Wednesday, November 12th*.
