[Poscgrad] IQMR 2026: Open Pool Call for Applications (Different from Dept. Nominations)

Dear graduate students,

There are two calls for applications to attend the Institute for
Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR)

in
June 2026: One is an open pool competition with a deadline of December 1,
2025. The second is our usual departmental call for applications due in
January or February 2026 (exact date TBD).

OPEN POOL

   - The open pool call for applications is *now open*, and applications
      are due directly to IQMR on *December 1, 2025.*
         - More information can be found on the IQMR homepage (linked
         above). Please note this is *different from* our POSC Department
         internal process for selecting IQMR nominees.
      - Those selected through the “open pool” process receive an open pool
      fellowship that covers participation fees and lodging fees and provides a
      per diem.
      - Funding for open pool participants is provided through a grant to
      IQMR by the National Science Foundation.
      - Open pool selection is typically quite competitive.
      - IQMR anticipates completing the open pool selection process by
      December 31, 2025.


DEPARTMENTAL CALL

   - Our departmental Graduate Committee will send out a call for
      applications sometime in *January or early February, 2026* (exact
      date TBD).
      - Grad Committee will then review applications and select our
      nominee(s) to submit to IQMR.


Those who are interested should feel free to apply to the open pool call
and, if not accepted, apply again via the departmental process.
