Dear Colleague --

The Bates College Department of Politics is accepting applications for
an assistant professorship with a focus on International or Comparative
Political Economy. The successful candidate will also be able to offer a
course in quantitative methods. The position begins July 1, 2026, and
candidates should have received their Ph.D. or successfully defended
their dissertation by that date.

We are currently accepting applications and will begin reviewing them on
September 19. We would be pleased if you would forward this to
interested and qualified Ph.D. students in your program. The complete
job ad may be found here: https://apply.interfolio.com/171240

Faculty scholarship is robustly supported by start-up packages, internal
grants, and a well-staffed external grants office. Pedagogical
development and innovation are buttressed by the Center for Inclusive
Teaching and Learning. Educational access and inclusion are central to
Bates’ history and mission and our faculty-led initiatives reflect this
commitment.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Best,

John
