[Poscgrad] Greetings from UCR IPL Lab!

Hi all!

I hope you all had a restful summer break.
I'm writing this email to introduce our lab, UCR Identity Politics Lab, with Jenn (merolla at ucr.edu) to you.

Our lab aims to create a supportive venue to learn about the role of identity in politics across the subfields and to share research ideas with colleagues. We have regular meetings every other Monday from 1PM to 2PM at the Chair's office or on Zoom, and I would like to invite you all to our lab meeting. If you are interested in identity politics, such as gender, race/ethnicity, political parties, sexual orientation, nationality, etc, please feel free to join our lab. We don't specify any subfields as research areas, and our current lab members are from diverse academic/personal backgrounds, hoping to make a safe place for everyone. I also study racial and ethnic politics and immigration in the U.S. as an international student. So, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email if you have any concerns or questions regarding our lab!  

We have multiple projects in progress now, and one of our goals is to facilitate collaborations among lab members, including undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members. So, I believe our lab can provide a wonderful place if you are looking for opportunities for research participation, especially junior graduate students (such as first-year or second-year grad students).

As a lab manager for this fall quarter, I'm happy to answer any questions about our lab and share more details with you. Feel free to shoot me an email to me (mjoo009 at ucr.edu) if you want to sign up for our lab's listserv or join our lab. Below is our lab meeting schedule for this fall quarter. During our first lab meeting, we will have a short introduction time and discuss REPS Lab proposals together.
