Dear grad students,
ISA West is this weekend in Pasadena. Rick Crespo (UCR PhD alum & former
student of mine) is the Conference Program Chair and is looking for
graduate student volunteers to help out at the conference in Pasadena
either Friday or Saturday. In return you will receive access to this year's
conference (so you may attend panels of interest to you) plus a free ISA
membership for one year. This is a great opportunity, especially for
earlier-career grad students who have yet to experience what an academic
conference feels like. Rick is also super nice and a great person to work
with. If you are interested in volunteering/attending this weekend, please
email Rick at ricardo.crespo at gcccd.edu.

Hello Marissa,
Hope you are doing well and that your quarter is off to a positive start!
This coming weekend, September 27th-28th, is the International Studies
Association-West conference in Pasadena. Looks like we are in need of a few
extra graduate student volunteers, and I wanted to reach out to see if any
of your graduate students would be interested in volunteering this coming
weekend?
Students who volunteer receive a free ISA membership for the year and will
have opportunities to sit in on panels throughout the conference. This is a
good experience, especially for new graduate students who have never
attended a conference or who want to get involved with the International
Studies Association. Volunteers are not expected to work both days of the
conference, only the time they are able to.
If any of your students are interested, can you have them get in touch with
me at ricardo.crespo at gcccd.edu?
Thanks Marissa!
Rick
