CIVIC will hold its first event of the 2024-25 academic year on Wednesday, October 16 at 12:45 PM in 1500 HMNSS.

We will be hosting two distinguished speakers who will address the topic "When Anti-Woke Turns Authoritarian."  Neil McLaughlin is Professor of Sociology at McMaster University in Canada.  He is finishing a new book on the former University of Toronto psychology professor and current right-wing activist, and entrepreneur Jordan Peterson.  David L. Swartz is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Boston University.  He is the author of a new book on academic Trumpists.
