Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) Position
for Winter Quarter 2023 (49% time or 19 hours/week)
Application deadline:
Review of applications will begin on 12pm (noon) on Friday, 10/14/2022.

Dr. Ellen Reese are currently seeking a part-time Graduate Student Research (GSR) to assist with online, library, and bibliographic and interview research project examining the challenges of, opportunities and best practices for, and experiences with, workforce development related to green jobs generally in the United States and California, and the electrification of the logistics and warehousing industry in the Inland Empire in particular.

Responsibilities:  Duties include the following:
1)    Attendance at regular project meetings with the PI by zoom (meeting day & times are negotiable);
2)    Assist with online and other background research on the topic, as instructed;
3)    Assist with recruiting, collecting, transcribing (via automated software), and summarizing in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders and experts, as instructed.
Compensation:   Your wage level will be commensurate with experience and equivalent to your current GSR Step level (as of 9/27/22, between $22.72/hour [GSRII] –$27.21/hour [GSRIV]). Your tuition and fees will also be covered through this position.
Hours & dates of employment: Approximately 19 hours/week for 10 weeks, during Winter Quarter 2023.

Requirements & Preferred Characteristics for the Position:
1. must be a graduate student who is currently enrolled at UCR
2. must have good research and writing skills and show attention to detail;
3. must have a strong work ethic.
4. online/bibliographic/library and/or interview research experience is preferred but not required.
5. knowledge of, and/or interest in, the research topic is preferred but not required.

(2) a brief letter of interest that includes the following:
a. a brief description of your own career and research interests & why this research position interests you;
b. please describe any relevant skills, professional training, research and/or professional experiences related to this position.
d. a statement describing any restrictions on your start and/or end date and/or any other scheduling restrictions during winter quarter 2023;
e. name, phone number, & email addresses for at least two references.

(3) an electronic copy of your UCR course transcript that includes your current overall cumulative GPA and your grades in graduate-level classes.
