Dear POSC Grads and Faculty,

As we prepare to make TA assignments for the following quarter, I am writing to remind everyone of our department’s policy on TA'ship eligibility, first announced in 2020, and reproduced below.

Please take a moment to (re-)read and (re-)familiarize yourself with the policy, as appended below.

For the winter of 2023, students who entered the program in 2018 and have not yet advanced to candidacy will need to defend their prospectus by December 1, 2022, or have an approved petition to extend their normative timeline by that date, in order to remain eligible for employment.

Please note that advancement to candidacy requires completion of all coursework requirements, along with a successful oral defense of the prospectus.

All best,
Farah
