Experimental Cosmology and Instrumentation:

*Title:* *AI Operation of a Particle Accelerator*
*Speaker:* Daniel Ratner, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
*Date:* Wednesday, May 14th
*Time:* 3:00 PM
*Location:* Reading Room

Dr. Ratner will explore the role of AI in modern accelerator operations,
including real-time performance tuning and detection of faulty subsystems.
He will present examples from the Linac Coherent Light Source and x-ray
FEL, highlighting the use of Bayesian optimization and deep neural networks
to enhance accelerator functionality.
