[Physics-staff] Change in Department Staff

Good morning Physics & Astronomy,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Jessie Duarte from Physics & Astronomy Department.  She has accepted a fully remote Research Admin3/Fund Manager in Post-Award position at the School of Medicine, Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego.  Her strong C&G skills and dedication to the department will be missed, but we wish her the very best on her new position.  Her last day will be Friday July 8th.

I would like to thank her for all her contributions to the Physics & Astronomy Department over the last 2 years.  We have enjoyed working with Jessie and appreciate her work commitment and dedication.

We do want to remind our department that while the work force is evolving and more full remote opportunities are becoming available this will be a challenge we are up against.  It is imperative that we remain flexible with our staff while we navigate this transition.  We will be moving forward with a recruitment and hope to fill the position as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we have reached out to the Dean's office for assistance and are working on a plan to get us some assistance with proposal submissions etc.
