[Physics-grads-announce] Graduate Mentoring Workshop, Thursday April 28 @2 PM

Dear Graduate Students,

Please join us for the next Graduate Mentoring Workshop on Thursday, April 28 at 2 PM in the Physics Reading Room.   The topic is "Cultivating a network of mentors and collaborators/Networking for introverts”.    

We will begin the workshop with an activity lead by Katy Rodriguez Wimberly, which is designed to help us to learn and practice networking tools to establish rapport with a new connection.    We will then have a panel discussion with a few faculty (Profs. Anson D’Aloisio, Miguel Arratia, and Boerge Hemmerling) who will be sharing some of their experiences with networking in their careers.

Bring your questions and learn some tips about networking, grab some coffee and cookies, and meet other grad students!

May 19: How to develop an outreach program/write a diversity statement -  Organizer: Gaby Canalizo.  Invited speaker: Dr. Mario De Leo Winkler, Outreach Director, Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana - Note the date change
Date TBD (Probably June 2): International students VISA, OPT etc. - Organizer: Peng Wei.  Invited speaker: Heidi Nam, OPT Empowerment Specialist, ISS
