UCOP has confirmed with the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
(CIRM) that the Governor's executive order to suspend State contracts does
not apply to awards made by CIRM. Consequently, they will not be suspending
any of their awards. They indicated that the reason why their awards are
exempt from the executive order is because of the way they are funded
(revenues generated by the sale of bonds).

This news is heartening, especially since UCOP has reported that as of
yesterday, they have not been informed of any State grants having been
suspended.

If you have any questions regarding the suspension of State contracts,
please contact me or the Contract and Grant Officer
<http://or.ucr.edu/home/Staff.aspx?t=3> assigned to your unit.
