Dear all,

*Tomorrow *(*Wednesday*, *the 27th*) the UCR History department will
present a special event including short lectures, demos, and discussion: *Women
In Music Technology: Traditions of Revolution,* hosted by Assistant
Professor of Popular Music Amy Skjerseth in conversation with UCI/Juilliard
professor/composer/violinist/inventor Mari Kimura (she will be demoing her
music user gesture motion sensor controller technology! It's like Imogen
Heap's motion-sensor glove, but even more accessible). The event, free and
open to all, will be held in *INT**S 1128 (Screening Room) at 5:30pm*. Please
see the attached poster for more details!

*With many thanks to the Department of History, especially David Biggs,
Allison Palmer, Amy Gu, and Derrian Benoit Nash.*

Best,
Amy
