[Microplantpath_faculty] Fwd: Postponed: Planned Electrical & Air Conditioning Shutdown Notification Boyce Hall — 9/19

Good afternoon All,

Facilities was preparing for a full electrical shutdown on 9/19 in Boyce
Hall for the transformer installation.

Equipment connected to standard outlets, including equipment powered by the
480/277V switchboard, will be without power. This includes air handlers,
pumps, motors, lighting, and some research equipment.

The intended time frame for this shutdown was *Saturday, September 19, from
6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.* Due to various concerns, the outage has been
*postponed*, but it will still occur in the near future. Once the updated
date and time are provided, our goal is to be fully prepared with your
assistance.

To help us ensure we provide backup power to anyone who may need it to
preserve research and materials, we are asking for your help to populate
the Cold Storage Survey.

The survey will help CNAS identify who may need additional resources in the
event of emergencies/outages. The survey can be completed by either faculty
or one of their lab managers.  The survey entails:

   - Filling out required fields
   - Entering Accurate details: Fill in contact info, date/time,
   and specific dropdown choices accurately. Add as much detail as possible.
   - Location
   - Upload Photos & Attachments
   - Review & Submit once complete

Please complete the survey by Friday, 9/18, as it will provide CNAS with
the information needed for effective resource planning in preparation for
this outage and future ones. If you have any questions, please contact

*WHAT TO EXPECT*

Building power will be available only through emergency circuits. Equipment
connected to red outlets or other emergency power sources will remain
powered.

Equipment connected to standard outlets, including equipment powered by the
480/277V switchboard, will be without power. This includes air handlers,
pumps, motors, lighting, and some research equipment.

*If you have sensitive equipment or systems that may be affected by a power
interruption and are not connected to uninterrupted power devices, such as
UPS units and surge protectors, please plan to shut down and disconnect the
equipment for the duration of the shutdown to help prevent damage.
