[Medical & Health Careers Program]

This message is being sent to students that subscribe to the Medical and
Health Careers Email List but it is intended for ALL students interested in
service opportunities and leaders in various student organizations.

Dear UCR Student Leaders,

In the Fall of 2010 at a Service Cluster Meeting several students raised the
concept of having a week of service at UCR.  The purpose of this week would
be to raise awareness of the Service opportunities here at UCR through
student organizations and community partners.  They were also aware that
many students, faculty, and staff already current volunteer on a regular
basis so they wanted to recognize that good service and show how much
service UCR could complete with in one given week.  With this in mind
Service Week has been confirmed for April 16th through April 23rd, 2011.
Attached as a link below you will find a letter regarding Service Week at
UCR.  Please take some time to read this letter from the committee. 

If you or your organization is interested in participating in Service Week
events please send a rep to the next Service Week meeting being held in the
Student Org. Workroom (HUB 228) on TOMORROW - Thursday March 3rd at 11 am.
We ask if a group already has an event planned during Service week that is
connected with one of our themes please submit a proposal to Joseph Martinez
at jmartine at ucr.edu so that it can be reviewed by the committee.
