Free Science Communication Workshop!
Catering from Arcade Coffee Company Provided.

UCR Professor and communication expert Annika Speer will host a workshop on honing oral skills to effectively present at conferences, write concisely, and report research findings to a variety of audiences including non-scientists. This workshop is open to all STEM graduate students.

The workshop will take place on September 21st from 1pm to 3:30pm with a coffee break in between.

Biotechnology Start-Up Design Tournament

Our Plants3D NRT NSF Program is eager to catalyze interactions between graduate students in STEM programs.

We welcome graduate students from any degree program to join our 3rd Annual Design Tournament. This year's challenge is to design a group project that might lead to a solution or product in the alternative food, flavor, or fragrance arena.

Teams compete for seed funding of up to $5,000 and everyone can benefit from this chance to develop entrepreneurial, team work, and effective science communication skills.
All meetings will take place in the Genomics Auditorium from 12pm to 1pm.
September 19th: Organizational Meeting
October 10th: Round 1 of the Competition
October 20th: Round 2 of the Competition

November 19th: Final Round at Lake Arrowhead
