[IIGB_All] Weekly COVID-19 Policy Reminders & Updates

Greetings IIGB Community,

To ensure the safety and security of all occupants of the Genomics Building, we are requesting that you abide by the following stated policies and guidelines.  Please be comply with these rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all. If you have concerns or feedback for additional measures, please let us know.

Should a lab member be suspected of having COVID-19 symptoms and/or is feeling unwell:


  1.  Inform their PI immediately and go home to quarantine; encourage them to take a test.
  2.  PI must determine who that individual was in contact with and inform the shared labs/floor that someone presented symptoms, but identities are to be kept confidential.
  3.  Individuals who were in direct contact with that person should also quarantine.
  4.  PI should contact Xuemei, Patty, or IIGB Admin if there is a suspected case and inform them of the steps they have taken so far.
  5.  Individuals are only allowed to return to the campus if tests are negative.
  6.  If test results are positive, EH&S must be informed.

Additionally, UCR employees are eligible to take up to two COVID-19 tests per week at no cost. We highly encourage all employees to get tested regularly so that asymptomatic individuals are able to quarantine.
