[IAWP - TC] IAWP 2024 Virtual Conference - please sign up to present

Dear TC's,

I hope you will consider conducting a workshop for our annual conference on February 3rd from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Each workshop will be 70 minutes long and virtual.



Here is a description for the keynote session by mental health counselor, Tamika Carter:


Semicolons tell your reader that the two sentences on either side speak to each other or are part of the same idea. (iup.edu)Post pandemic and society induced life transitions yielded a rich crop of students opening up about heavy personal situations. Teachers became tasked with negotiating their objective duties while supporting students'' socio-emotionally. We saw a drastic decline in the educator morale and workforce numbers. This was a result of the neglect of staff mental wellness needs while increasing their responsibilities to care for students. Equipped and empowered teachers can use writing to help students turn trauma into semicolons instead of periods. Learn how student and teacher wellness are linked.
