Employees in Graduate Student Title Codes will now be required to complete UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Beginning April 15, graduate students who are also employees of the University will need to complete both their student training (in the outside vendor’s system for students) and the employee training assigned in the UC Learning Center.

The Systemwide Title IX Office asked the UC Learning Center team to begin including employees in graduate student title codes again in the UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training requirement. Previously exempted from the training due to content overlap with training required of them as students, the latest versions of the both the employee and student trainings now cover different topics. Thus, the student training no longer fulfills the training required of them as employees.

The Systemwide Title IX Office is aware of the desire to deliver a course to graduate students that satisfies their requirements as both students and employees. The Systemwide Title IX Office intends to engage in the creation of that course in 2025, to make it available after facilitating the accessibility, functionality, and translation processes. The Systemwide Title IX Office will provide more communication on that later in 2025.
