NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
The few emails I have received about the GSA elections seemed to echo a
similar sentiment...people are interested, but feel they don't have the
experience needed. Anyone who suffered through my first few council
meetings that confirm just how clueless I was when I became involved with
the GSA. I had absolutely NO student government/association experience
(yeah, yeah, I know that was obvious), but I wanted to try something new
and I learned as I went along.

We are going to pay student fees regardless if there is an association or
not~What we (all 2,500 of us) NEED is a few of you to step up and make sure
as much of those fees as possible are put back in grad student pockets
through conference travel grants, co-sponsorship of conferences, grad
bashes....
There isn't a single position that requires experience or any specific
knowledge of the GSA~ If you are a grad student and can find a couple hours
a week in your schedule then PLEASE apply! Here is where we are at
currently:
President: 2 candidates
Exec. VP: 0 candidates
VP Acad. Affairs: 0 candidates
Public Relations: 1 candidate
Health Insurance: 0 candidates
Finance: 2 candidates
Please send me your name and a short statement about why you would like to
serve the GSA before April 8th.
Rachel
