What is the Council?
The Graduate Student Council consists of representatives from every
department on campus. Departments with forty or fewer graduate students
receive one representative, and departments with greater than forty graduate
students receive two representatives. The Council acts as the legislative
and executive body of the Graduate Student Association and has the power to
direct the actions of the Executive Board.

Why should I attend Council meetings?
For starters, we feed you. More importantly, you will learn what is
happening on campus from issues affecting students to upcoming conferences
and speakers and even ways that you can become more involved. You can also
make your voice heard. If there is something happening that you feel needs
to to be addressed, the Council can help by adding a chorus of voices behind
yours.

How do I get something on the agenda?
Contact the GSA president (gsaucr at ucr.edu) or come into the office and meet
with an officer at least one week before the meeting. If you would like to
propose the Council take action on something, write a resolution. If you
would like to request funding from our conference and speaker fund, meet
with events and allocations committee prior to presenting to council. If you
just want to make an announcement, show up to the meeting. There is always
time at the end of the meeting for anyone to make any announcements they
wish.
