> Hello Graduate Students,
>
> For the first time in its history, UC Riverside will be hosting the UCSA Student Congress this summer from August 18-21, 2011. This conference brings together undergraduate and graduate students from all 10 UC campuses for a conference of workshops, panels, and most importantly, the opportunity to help choose which issue will be undertaken by UCSA in the 2011-2012 school year. This past year, UCSA worked on the Graduate Student Bill of Rights, a document that provides fair living conditions and equitable working standards for all UC graduate students. With UC Regents recently voting to increase student tuition by 9.6%, it is imperative that students take a stand and fight for a quality UC education.
>
> With the conference taking place on our campus, current UCR students can attend for a deeply discounted rate. In addition, UCR GSA will look to help offset the cost for students attending. With that said, what you will pay out of pocket for a 4 day conference (including all materials and meals) will be around $40 (final figure will be determined at a later date.
>
> If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Adam Jackson-Boothby, GSA Executive Vice President, at aboot002 at ucr.edu indicating your interest. Please e-mail your intent ASAP, but no later than July 25, 2011. In addition, please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions you may have.
>
