Dear Graduate Student Community,

The Association of Students in Hispanic Studies would like to invite
you to join us on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 8:30am to 5:00pm
for our conference: "Contested Territories: Violence, Conflict, and
the Body" to be held in HMNSS 2412.

Our Keynote speaker is Luis Arturo Ramos, a distinguished professor at
University of Texas at El Paso and an exemplary writer. His keynote
address is entitled "La novela corta: cuerpos y anticuerpos" and will
take place, with time for questions, from 12:45 to 2:15.

This event is free and open to the public. This event is made possible
through the generous support of the Hispanic Studies Department, Latin
American Studies, the Graduate Student Association, and the Department
of Religious Studies.

Attached is a handout for your reference.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Rachel Neff, conference chair
