Professors named Freedom Scholars
Alisa Bierria, an assistant professor of ethnic studies; and Dylan Rodriguez, a professor of media and cultural studies; are among a dozen scholars selected for the Freedom Scholars program, which promotes those advocating for economic, racial, and social justice.

UCR startup to compete in Entrepreneurship World Cup
FarmSense, which makes insect traps for farmers using artificial intelligence technology, took second place at the Entrepreneurship World Cup U.S. National Finals and has qualified for the World Cup. The company was founded by a UCR professor and an alumnus.

UC public policy deans defend anti-racism academic research
The deans of the four UC public policy schools criticized a federal Office of Management and Budget order prohibiting critical race theory training. The deans defended academic research on the issue, calling it important in understanding racism in America and promoting an equal society.
