Workshop: Preparing Academic Job Application Materials

Description: The "Preparing Academic Job Materials" workshop will offer insight into the academic job search process as well as offer an overview of the most common application components: including CVs, cover letters, teaching statements, research statements, etc. The presentation will be tailored to SOE students interested in pursuing faculty and administrative positions in institutions of higher education.

Op-Ed Writing Workshop with Dan Bernstein, veteran Inland Empire journalist, columnist, and author. Bernstein, now retired, wrote for The Press-Enterprise for 38 years. Through his poignant and witty columns, Bernstein became an influential - and integral - voice in the Inland Empire. He is the author of several books, including "Justice in Plain Sight: How a Small-Town Newspaper and Its Unlikely Lawyer Opened America's Courtrooms" (2019).
